オリエンタリズム的な偏見と誤解を払拭して西アジア社会を理解するための方法論と知識を習得する。西アジアの歴史、文化、社会システムの基本的な知識を得て、諸事象の考察を行う。

This course provides the methodology and knowledge required to develop a proper understanding of West Asian societies, rejecting Orientalist stereotypes and traditional prejudices. Students first gain a basic knowledge of the history, culture and social systems of West Asia, and then discuss specific events and situations occurring in the societies.
