中国で生まれた喫茶文化は、異なる文化と出合い、世界各地で新しい文化の華を咲かせた。茶文化を通して文化の多様性を確認し、グローバル化が進むなか、生かし生かされる自分と他者の関係・異文化間の相互理解と尊重の大切さを認識し、世界平和のための共存の道を探ることが本講義の目的である。比較文化の視点から日本文化の特徴を把握した上、異文化と関わる分野の政策などを考える時、文化的要素を視野に入れて問題提起し、その解決法を説明できるようになれば目標水準を達成したと言える。

The culture of tea, which originated in China, brought about encounters between cultures and gave rise to a new cultural phenomenon in countries throughout the world. The objective of these lectures is to reaffirm cultural diversity, the networks of interdependence that bind us all, and the importance of mutual respect among people and cultures in a globalizing world, through the culture of tea. Students will meet the objective of the class if they are able to able to grasp the characteristics of Japanese culture through cultural comparison, incorporate cultural factors into consideration of policies relating to other cultures, identify key issues and outline potential solutions.
